According to agency Chitika is OS X Mavericks the fastest-adopted operating system in the history of OS X. Not surprisingly, while previous versions were offered for $20-$30, Mavericks can be downloaded for free by all users with supported machines. According to measurements, 24% of all Mac users downloaded the latest OS X in the first 5,5 hours. By comparison, in the case of Mountain Lion released last year, it was only 1,6 percent, with the update costing $19,99.
Mountain Lion also brings significant performance optimization and solves most of the problems brought by previous versions, namely OS X 10.7 Lion, which many compare to Windows Vista.

You probably meant Mavericks, right? :)
Does anyone have experience with a Macbook Pro 2010?
I have MBW Mid 2010 with SSD. It's running fine, I'm just having trouble with the new Safari, so I've switched to Chrome.
since I don't have an SSD drive... so I'm worried that the transition won't slow down the mac unnecessarily.
Mavericks is faster even on an ordinary hdd.
I have an MBP mid 2010, a combination of SSD + HDD - it works perfectly. E.g. starting and shutting down the system several orders of magnitude faster. Acceleration while running the system is not something bombastic, but I can't complain about anything. I wouldn't worry about it even on an ordinary HDD, I don't think you will have any problem, on the contrary.
thanks for the positive info, I'll give it a go tomorrow and see
On the iMac 2011 27 inches with a rotating HDD, it is quite noticeable. In the previous OSX ML, Safari was crashing for me (mainly FaceBook) and now it's great. So far, no negatives... If it continues like this, I can't complain :-)
somehow I can't install it on Macbook Pro 2011…..you don't know what I'm doing wrong….?
That's a fairly abstract description of the problem.
yeah, you're right...well, I want to download it, I'll download it and type it, verify the update, and then nothing happens
So I also have negative experiences with Maverick - Safari started crashing and I had to replace it with Chrome, but here again scrolling temporarily stops working. Also in Finder, you cannot use a gesture to replace the back button. Pretty annoying, I hope they fix it soon.. Otherwise, I have a MacBook Pro 13" 2010
As for the gesture that replaces the "back" button in the finder (if you mean when one finger is placed on the magic mouse and it moves left/right, as it is possible for example in Safari), it no longer works for me in OS X Mountain Lion.. I have a 2012 iMac.
Yes, I mean this gesture, I had it set to three fingers and I only use the Trackpad, but it probably won't make a difference. However, I read that it was possible to fix it in OS X Mountain Lion.. Here it is not yet possible (at least not for me)
I have the same problem with Safari, I also replaced it with Chrome. The problem with it is that Google Chrome Helper crashes in it. It is Not Responding, I have to turn it off manually in the Activity Monitor.
And is the hacking caused by Safari? Because I also have the aforementioned 2010 13″ and Safari in 10.9 is the fastest and smoothest of any version I've ever had. It's literally like a bullet and I don't know any slashes, that's happened to me before on ML. Is this caused by some additional plugin or something?
I only use adblock in safari. It only happens to me on sites with a lot of .js scripts, for example technet.
I've had rather negative experiences... I've had constant cuts since installation. Before, I never shut down my MacBook, just closed it and done…everything worked. Now I have to restart it all the time because the memory is overloaded.
MacBook Pro 2011 with 8GB RAM. :/
It's all stuck .. not only safari ... sometimes there is no sound, or there is an unbalanced sound (I have to put the slider in the middle in the settings), the pizza-time wheel constantly appears, sometimes the mouse does not work, the trash cannot be emptied, etc. So I keep restarting, or I close and open applications ... how to get out of this? Can I request a downgrade? Or claim a computer? I've had it for about 3 months... Thanks for the advice.
