The genre of so-called bullet hell games, in which you try to avoid increasingly fast-moving projectiles, is almost as old as the entire gaming industry. So it's always interesting to see someone bring some originality to this type of game. Studio Torcado showed a great deal of creativity in its latest effort, Heck Deck. In it, it combined the typically frenetic gameplay of the mentioned games with the tactical selection of various types of actions.

At first glance, Heck Deck presents a classic bullet hell, in which you have more and more problems avoiding enemy bullets. However, the game makes the whole experience special by the fact that time in the game does not pass if you do not move. Enemies' projectiles do not hit the protagonist in the form of a cute ghost, and you can think about what you will do in dramatic situations. But the real originality lies in the fact that enemy missiles are also cards that you get after shooting them down. These will then start to represent special abilities that you can then use at any time.

Without the time-stop feature, Heck Deck would probably be impossible to finish. The screen starts overflowing with danger after a few levels and you start to really appreciate the original mechanics. In any case, it's a great way to unwind, as each pass lasts around ten minutes.
