Introduced a year ago, the iPhone 6 Plus came against the smaller model with a significant advantage – optical image stabilization, thanks to which the user can capture even better photos. This year, Apple extended optical stabilization to video as well, but it remains exclusive to the 6S Plus. The iPhone 6S only has to make do with digital stabilization.

As the first tests showed, when shooting in 4K, another novelty of the new iPhones, the presence of optical stabilization is a fundamental advantage. If you want to shoot in 4K on an iPhone and demand the best results, then you should definitely choose the iPhone 6S Plus, where stabilization is handled by the hardware, not just the software.

While the digital optical stabilization in the iPhone 6S is usually still sufficient when shooting in Full HD, it starts to falter in 4K. In the attached video from Giga Tech we can see the video performance of both phones side-by-side, and while the iPhone 6S's footage might look good on its own, it can't measure up to the iPhone 6S Plus head-to-head.
