MagSafe must have been loved by every iPhone owner who has some accessories for it - holders, wallets, external batteries and much more are held together by a series of magnets. But not always as firmly as we would like. OpenCase solves this and its magic is hidden right in the name.

It's quite a wonder it took so many years. After all, the first iPhones with MagSafe were the iPhone 12, now we have the iPhone 15 and nothing has changed in this regard, so the shape is still the same and so is the strength of the magnets. This can bother you, especially if you attach wallets or batteries to your iPhones, which can easily fall out of them. But there is a solution, just buy a cover that has a bare back.

Brilliant idea, embarrassingly simple execution

Yes, it really is as simple as it sounds. Creative OpenCase they simply took a more or less classic-looking cover and cut out the back so that not only a wallet but also a power bank and many other accessories from third-party manufacturers fit into them. Thanks to the fact that the accessory has direct contact with the phone, it holds better, but also because it is actually in the cutout of the cover, which prevents accidental disconnection. This cover thus improves MagSafe, but does not contain it at all. Thanks to this, you actually save on the thickness, by approx. 2,5 mm.

OpenCase launched a campaign to Kickstarter, where the goal was to collect at least 10 thousand dollars for the implementation of the project, which was also successful. Of course, the cover still protects the phone, it just has the back of it exposed. It is available for all models of the iPhone 14 and 15 series, so far only in black. The price of the cover itself is $55 (approx. CZK 1), the full price will then be $300. But there are also sets with a wallet from the same manufacturer, a simple cover for the back "holey" space or a set with a holder, and even a stand.

If you are interested in this accessory, you still have a week to do the project as part of the campaign Kickstarter to support. But you can also just take your old case and only cut a hole in it on the back, which will clearly save you money, but the purpose of use will actually be the same.
