Online Investment Conference 2022: What was heard at XTB's biggest event this year?

Press Release: It took place this Saturday Online Investment Conference 2022. On a big event that lasted overall 6 and a half hours, presented and discussed overall 13 speakers from the Czech and Slovak financial scene. They mainly focused on the current economic situation and investing in a recession. So we bring you a quick summary of the most interesting things that this event brought. The conference overall contained three main panel discussions and seven presentations. In general, we can say that most of the participants provided, in addition to the given main topics, also their opinions on interesting sectors and companies that they themselves focus on.

The whole event was opened by a panel Daniel Gladiš a Jaroslav Brychty. Gentlemen discussed in this segment the current situation and their views on potential threats. Apart from that, the two also shared a details from their portfolio and their view of shorting.

The second panel they attended Jaroslav Šura, Ronald Ižip and Petr Novotný focused specifically on black swans, i.e. potential unpredictable threats to the markets. All three speakers hold rather bearish views, and China, Ukraine, inflation, but also, for example, state indebtedness, were mentioned as potential threats. The panel then included their advice on how to protect yourself from such events.

In the last panel discussion, which also ended the entire event, he spoke Dominik Stroukal, Juraj Karpiš and Michal Stupavský. This panel mainly talked about the macroeconomic situation and why macro is becoming more important than ever before. In addition to their views on the current potential recession, the gentlemen focused on the topic of monetary and fiscal policy, primarily in the Czech and European environment.

These three panels were supported by those already mentioned seven presentations from experts in the field. In this section they presented David Monoszon, Boris Tomčiak, Štěpán Pírko, Anna Píchová, Petr Čermák, Michal Stupavský and Dominik Stroukal. Among the main topics of these presentations were e.g. passive x active investing, macroeconomic situation a how to invest in a recession.

But many more interesting ideas were voiced in the presentations and panels than could be described in this article.
