A new version of the advanced GTD tool OmniFocus for Mac was mentioned by the developers from the Omni Group back in 2012. At the conference Macworld 2013 OmniFocus 2 was even demonstrated and the arrival of its final version promised for the same year. However, the deadline was not met and we are still waiting for the new OmniFocus today. However, now the events have started to move again and according to the official announcement of the developers, users should see the long-awaited news this June.

Beta testing of the application was also resumed, in which a respectable 30 people are involved. They are now mainly tasked with focusing on the changes that have taken place in the beta of this GTD tool over the last few months of secret development.

On their blog, developers from Omni Group commented on the situation as follows:

When we revealed our plans for OmniFocus 2 for Mac last year and gave you a test version of it, it was to see which changes and new design elements you were happy with and which needed improvement. We didn't know what kind of response to expect and didn't dare estimate how close OmniFocus was to its official release. 

The feedback you gave us was overwhelmingly positive: the new user interface was easier to navigate and the new Forecast and Review modes gave you a better overview of your projects.

The sidebar and the appearance of buttons and other interactive elements have been redesigned. OmniFocus for iPhone also received a complete redesign in September of last year. This is the first of the big "GTD trio", which they are still adding Things a 2Do, offered a tailor-made iOS 7 experience. Things a 2Do revised iOS applications are also expected soon, but the exact dates of the publication of the new version are not yet known for any of the applications. Some aspects of the redesign of OmniFocus 2 for iPhone should also be reflected in the upcoming version for Mac.
