Microsoft's Office suite for the iPad made a fairly successful debut last month. However, many users were missing one very key feature in the applications, namely print support. Fortunately, Microsoft has heard the protests and lamentations and has now released an update that fixes the problem. With version 1.0.1, the possibility of wireless printing using AirPrint technology was additionally added to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Printing documents on the iPad should no longer be a problem, but even so, Microsoft could have taken a little more care when adding this new feature. Most of the important functions are in the printing options, including switching between portrait and landscape formats, double-sided printing or printing only part of the document. On the other hand, for example, the option to display a print preview is missing, which is a function that is quite key for Excel spreadsheets, for example. Not happy then that this feature is also missing from the list of features and improvements that Microsoft plans to add in the near future and shared them on its blog in an article continuous engineering

In addition to the widespread addition of the printing option, PowerPoint also received a new function. What's new in this presentation software is called SmartGuide and serves for easier and more accurate placement of elements on individual pages of the presentation. It is now also possible to use a secondary display when presenting.

It's nice that Redmond already a month after the release of its office suite is responding to user feedback and trying to bring its software closer to perfection. So hopefully this pace of updates will last and Office will continue to flourish. Microsoft Word, Excel i Power point you can download for free from the App Store to your iPads. Viewing documents is possible without any restrictions. To edit them, however, you need to be a subscriber to the not-so-cheap Office 365 program.
