Michal Ždanský Satya Nadella will lead his first conference as Microsoft CEO next week at a press event focused on mobile and the cloud. The event will take place on March 27 in San Francisco, a week before the regular developer conference "Build". The Verge a ZDNet agree that the Office suite for iPad should finally be introduced at this event.
Office for iOS has been around for a year, but so far only for the iPhone, so far Microsoft has kept the tablet version of the package exclusively for its own Surface tablet as a competitive advantage. However, Satya Nadella has a different vision against Steve Ballmer and shortly after his election to the head of Microsoft, he emphasized that the company will focus on the mobile market and the cloud. After all, Nadella was before appointment to the position of executive director the head of the division under which the Azure cloud solution falls.
The iPad application should be very similar in terms of functions to the phone version, it will offer the ability to edit and create Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), but only for Office 365 subscribers, the application itself should be free. However, it is not excluded that Microsoft will change its strategy and release part of the basic functions for free or for a one-time fee.
Microsoft also released its next app today OneNote for Mac and we should also look forward to it this year new versions of Office, which will finally unify the look of the software on both Windows and Mac.
