In April 2021, Apple surprised us with a rather interesting news regarding the Find network. Until then, the service was completely closed and purely apple-growing. But then the fundamental change occurred. Apple also opened the platform for third-party accessory manufacturers, from which it promised significantly greater popularity and expanded possibilities. As such, the service is primarily used to ensure that you always have an overview of the location of your products or friends. Simply look in the app and you can immediately see where who and what is on the map.

This is the perfect solution for cases where, for example, you lose your iPhone or someone steals it. The April change wanted to expand these possibilities even more and bring a relatively fundamental novelty to apple growers. By opening up the entire platform, Apple users are not only dependent on Apple products, but can also make do with compatible alternatives. Manufacturers of such accessories can thus take advantage of the technology and secure search on the network, while end users can then combine these advantages with unofficial products.

It didn't take long to open the platform

Although the opening of the Najít platform was talked about as a big news, unfortunately it was very quickly forgotten. From the beginning, only new products from well-known brands such as Belkin, Chipolo and VanMoof received attention, which were the first to come with full support for Find and were able to fully utilize the possibilities of the apple platform. As we mentioned above, this innovation was considered a huge leap forward among apple growers. For example, the VanMoof brand in this context even presented the brand new S3 and X3 electric bikes with support for Find.

Unfortunately, since then, the attention of users has waned rather quickly and the openness of the platform has been more or less forgotten. The main problem lies, of course, in the companies themselves. They don't exactly rush to use the Najít platform twice, which of course has an impact on the overall popularity and success. But why is that the case? We would hardly look for an answer to this question - it is not entirely clear why other manufacturers ignored the platform. In any case, it is true that we haven't received much news since the opening itself. As Apple itself states on its website, products such as Belkin SOUNDFORM Freedom True Wireless headphones, Chipolo ONE Spot (an alternative to AirTag), Swissdigital Design backpacks and luggage with the SDD Finding system, and the aforementioned VanMoof S3 and X3 electric bikes are mainly functional.

Will we see an improvement?

Now it is also a question of whether we will actually ever see an improvement. The opening of the Najít network represents a huge number of various advantages that can serve not only the apple growers themselves, but also companies that bestow a sticker on their products. Works with Apple Findy My. It quickly informs whether a specific product is compatible with the Find network. For this reason, it would certainly not be harmful if Apple reminded everyone of the openness of the network and possibly established cooperation with other manufacturers.

On the other hand, it's also possible that we simply won't get anything like that and we'll have to make do with what we have available. How do you view the openness of the Find network? Do you think it was a step in the right direction that has the potential to lead to interesting things, or are you not interested in this possibility?
