When Apple introduced the redesigned MacBook Pros in 2016, which offered only USB-C instead of standard connectors, it easily upset a lot of Apple fans. They had to buy all kinds of reductions and hubs. But as it now seems, the transition to universal USB-C giant from Cupertino did not do well, as evidenced by predictions and leaks from respected sources, which have been predicting the return of some ports on the expected 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro for a long time. An SD card reader also falls into this category, which could bring interesting improvements.

Faster SD card reader

Thousands of Apple users still work with SD cards. These are mainly photographers and videographers. Of course, time is constantly moving forward and so is technology, which is reflected in file sizes. But the problem remains that although the files are getting bigger, their transfer speed is not so much anymore. That is precisely why Apple is likely to bet on a fairly decent card, which the YouTuber has now talked about Luke miani from Apple Track citing trusted sources. According to his information, the apple company will incorporate a high-speed UHS-II SD card reader. When using the right SD card, the transfer speed rises to a great 312 MB/s, while a regular reader can only offer 100 MB/s.

Operating memory and Touch ID

At the same time, Miani also spoke about the maximum size of the operating memory. So far now several sources claimed, that the expected MacBook Pro will come with an M1X chip. Specifically, it should offer a 10-core CPU (of which 8 powerful cores and 2 economical ones), a 16/32-core GPU, and the operating memory goes up to 64 GB, as is the case, for example, with the current 16″ MacBook Pro with an Intel processor. But the YouTuber comes with a slightly different opinion. According to his information, the Apple laptop will be limited to a maximum of 32GB of operating memory. The current generation of Macs with the M1 chip is limited to 16 GB.

At the same time, the button hiding the fingerprint reader together with Touch ID technology should receive backlighting. Unfortunately, Miani did not add any proper details to this claim. But we can say with certainty that this little thing would definitely not be thrown away and could easily decorate the keyboard itself and would make it easier to unlock the Mac at night or in poor lighting conditions.
