The benchmark results of two unknown Apple computers have appeared in the Geekbench database. These are the unannounced iMac and MacBook Pro, which could soon replace the existing models. The benchmarks were pointed out by readers on the server's forum MacRumors.com.

The first of the computers bears the designation MacBookPro9,1, which should be the successor of the MacBookPro8,x series. It is not clear from the benchmark what size it is, but it will probably be a 15" or 17" model due to the 45-watt processor. The new MacBook is equipped with a quad-core Ivy Bridge Core i7 3820QM processor clocked at 2,7 GHz, which has been talked about as a likely successor to Apple's 15" and 17" laptops. The computer achieved a result of 12 in the benchmark, while the average score of current MacBooks is 262.

The other is the iMac, probably the taller 27″ version. According to Geekbench, it has a quad-core Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7-3770 running at a frequency of 3,4 Ghz. The benchmark result is not as significantly higher as in the case of the MacBook Pro, the average of the higher model iMac with Sandy Bridge Core i7-2600 is around 11, the unknown iMac reached 500 points.

The motherboard of both models has the same identifier that was found in the first version of the Mountain Lion developer preview that was released in February. In addition, both computers include a previously unreleased build of OS X 10.8. "Leaked" benchmarks in the Geekbench database are nothing new, similar phenomena have occurred according to MacRumors already before. It may also be a fake, but the early introduction of new computers is evident and we will probably see them within a month. It can be assumed that Apple will launch the computers after the official release of Mountain Lion, which will be on June 11 at WWDC 2012.
