AirConsole is an interesting service that has been around for several years. It offers more than 140 games that are unique in that they can be played by many people on one screen and you don't even need any controllers or gamepads. A phone or tablet is used for control, so almost anyone can join the game.

The best thing about AirConsole is that you don't have to buy anything extra because you have everything with you. All you need is the internet and a few smart devices. First, you need a screen on which the game will be transmitted, which can be a TV, laptop, computer or tablet. An app is available for Android and iOS devices, a web app is available for the rest. You can get there through a browser, where you enter the page www.airconsole.com. The website or application will recognize which device it is and offer you the option to connect using a code.

You can then download it to your phone or tablet the AirConsole application, or use the website again www.airconsole.com. The connection is made by entering the numerical code on the phone that you see on the big screen. The first connected is "admin" and can select games using the phone. Other players will join in an identical manner. And that's it, once you have at least two people connected to the screen, you can start playing. (You can play alone, however the games tend not to be very fun)

You can theoretically have infinite players on one screen, however most games support a maximum of 16 people. Don't expect any AAA games you know from PC and consoles. In terms of quality, they are more like web or mobile games. But they have in common simple and understandable controls, so that people can immediately get into the game and don't have to explain how the game works for a long time.

As we already wrote above, the selection of games is impressive. There are fighting, racing, sports, action, shooters or logic games. One of the most popular types of games are quiz games, but here you need to count on knowledge of English. Czech is not supported. From personal testing, we also don't recommend games that require a lot of movement. Games react quite slowly to commands from the phone, especially if you are used to low latency from consoles.

The second thing that may put some off is the price of the service. If you want to play for free, you can try a maximum of five pre-selected games, and only in two players. In addition, you will be shown ads and some content will be completely blocked. For unlimited access, you need to pay a monthly subscription, similar to Apple Arcade. For the amount of CZK 69 / month, you get the ability to play more than 140 games, an unlimited number of players and no ads or waiting. If you are not a fan of subscriptions, lifetime access to the service can be purchased for 779 CZK.
