As vice president of communications, Dowling oversees media relations and communications strategy worldwide, managing both Apple's PR team and corporate events. In the previous ten years, Dowling led the corporate PR team for ten years, so he is well prepared for the new position, which he has been holding for the past few months anyway.
Before joining Apple in 2003, Dowling worked at CNBC, first as a journalist and later as a producer in Washington. He also subsequently managed CNBC's new offices in Silicon Valley.
