On the retirement of Apple's longtime CFO Peter Oppenheimer informed already at the beginning of March. At the same time, it was already clear then that he would be replaced by Luca Maestri, the current financial vice president, by the end of September at the latest. The change finally took place last week when Maestri officially took over Oppenheimer's agenda. However, he will remain at Apple for a few more months and help with the transition.

Former Xerox CFO Luca Maestri will receive an annual salary of one million dollars in his new position, as well as several thousand shares of the Apple company, but they will be paid based on Apple's results.

"Luca has over 25 years of global experience in senior financial management, including serving as CFO in publicly traded companies. I'm sure he'll be a great CFO at Apple," Cook said in March of Maestri, who only joined Apple last March but whose experience makes him a great fit to replace the veteran Oppenheimer.
