Vratislav Holub Even before the start of the world trade fair CES 2022, Samsung presented a brand new projector with the designation The Freestyle, which unrivaledly pushes the boundaries of its field several steps forward. At first glance, this is an inconspicuous product, but in fact it offers modern technology and perfect versatility. Thanks to this, we think that The Freestyle could interest not only projector fans in general, but also the general public.
Without canvas and anywhere
The main task of the projector is, of course, to project an image, for which a high-quality screen is needed. But as we already mentioned in the very introduction, The Freestyle focuses primarily on versatility, which goes hand in hand with the ability to rotate it up to 180 °. After all, thanks to this, it can handle projection literally anywhere - on the wall, ceiling, floor or even a table - without even needing the aforementioned screen. Overall, it can also project up to a 100" diagonal.
Of course, it may occur to you that projecting, for example, onto a colored wall or table can cause mischief. In this case, smart technologies that can deal with these cases and optimize the image to the best possible form have a say. This is because the projector can calibrate the colors, level the image, focus it and ensure it is in the ideal position so that you are looking at a flawless, regular rectangle. In addition, all this takes place automatically in a matter of seconds.
Compact, comfortable and sonorous
Honestly, what surprised me the most about the projector was how versatile and compact it actually is. According to official information from Samsung, it shouldn't be the slightest problem to put The Freestyle in a backpack, for example, go out with friends and enjoy watching up to 100" image together. This goes hand in hand with the built-in 360° speaker with a power of 5 W, which can sufficiently sound the surroundings.

Of course, the projector needs to be powered from the mains, but that doesn't have to be an obstacle either. You can get by with a power bank (with USB-C PD50W/20V output). Subsequently, another option is offered, as The Freestyle can be screwed into an E26 bulb holder. But the catch is that it requires an adapter, which is currently only certified for the American market. In conclusion, we must not forget to mention one thing. If the projector is not going to be used for projecting content, you can screw on a translucent cover and turn it into mood lighting. At the same time, there is also a function for analyzing the currently playing music, to which the projector can adjust the light effects.
Content mirroring
Nowadays, of course, no such product must lack support for content mirroring. The Freestyle itself has integrated certified apps (Netflix, YouTube, VOYO, O2TV, T-Mobile TV) and is fully compatible with both Android and iOS mirroring. For example, everything that happens on the phone Samsung Galaxy S21FE, can be seen immediately on the projection itself. This little thing can still be paired with Samsung smart TVs (Q70 series and higher), which will allow users to project regular TV broadcasts. Even regardless of whether the TV is currently on or off.
