Jailbreak, which was very popular in the days of the first iPhones, is no longer carried out as much due to the constant changes in iOS, but there are still many fans of it around the world. The fact that jailbreak may not pay off was confirmed by a recent case of data theft from iPhones modified in this way. Around 225 Apple accounts were stolen due to dangerous malware. This is one of the biggest thefts of this kind.

Jak mentions daily Palo Alto Networks, The new malware is called KeyRaider and steals usernames, passwords and device IDs as it monitors the data flowing between the device and iTunes.

Most of the affected users come from China. Users there have jailbroken their iPhones and installed apps from unauthorized sources.

Some students from Yangzhou University they noticed the attack already at the beginning of the summer, when they received reports that unauthorized payments were being made from some devices. The students then went through individual versions of jailbreaks until they found one that collected information from users, which was then uploaded to dubious websites.

According to security analysts, this threat only affects users with phones modified in this way, who use alternative App Stores, and they point out that it is precisely because of similar problems that the government does not want to allow the use of iPhones and similar devices as work tools.
