The latest MacBook Air was introduced last fall, when it was able to impress with its M1 chip. Since then, there has been occasional speculation about the new generation, its possible novelties and the date when the giant from Cupertino will actually present us with a similar device. Nevertheless, we do not know much information for now. Almost the entire apple world is now focusing on the arrival of the redesigned 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro. Fortunately, editor Mark Gurman from the Bloomberg portal made himself heard, according to which we will have to wait a little longer. According to his information, Air will not be released this year and we will not see it until next year. In any case, the great news remains that Apple is going to enrich it with a MagSafe connector.

MacBook Air (2022) render:

In addition, the return of the MagSafe connector could appeal to a wide range of users. When Apple introduced it for the first time in 2006, it literally charmed the masses. Users could thus supply power without fear that, for example, someone would trip over the cable and accidentally pull the device off the table or shelf. Since the cable is connected magnetically, in such cases it is simply disconnected. The change then came in 2016, when the giant switched to the universal USB-C standard, which it still relies on today, even for MacBook Pros. In addition, speculation about the mentioned 14″ and 16″ speaks in favor of the return of MagSafe MacBook Pro. In addition to the newer chip, it should also offer a mini-LED display, a newer design and the return of some old ports – namely SD card readers, HDMI and that particular MagSafe.

MacBook Air in colors

Acclaimed leaker Jon Prosser has already talked about the upcoming MacBook Air in the past. According to him, Apple will offer the laptop in several color variants, similar to this year's 24″ iMac. The current Air with the M1 chip is undoubtedly the most suitable device for most people. Thanks to its Apple Silicon chip, it offers first-class performance in a compact body, while at the same time it is energy-efficient and offers enough energy for the whole working day. So, if Apple brings back MagSafe and brings a more powerful chip that not only provides more performance, but also, for example, is more economical, it can undoubtedly appeal to a huge group of potential customers. At the same time, he could win over old apple growers who have switched to competitors.
