There are a lot of rumors about the fifth generation iPad mini. From the leaks so far, we know that there will be no design change and the tablet will only receive a hardware upgrade. In the case of its introduction, no one will be surprised by the same chassis or the absence of Face ID.
Steve Hemmerstoffer, who goes by the nickname OnLeaks on Twitter, boasted that he was able to view CAD drawings of the iPad mini 5 and thus knows its approximate form. He kept the photos to himself for now, but mentioned that the fifth generation of Apple's small tablet matches its previous versions. The only change concerns the small microphones, which will be moved from the side to the upper back. Apple also reportedly kept Touch ID, the 3,5mm jack and the Lightning connector.
Since the iPad mini 4 is equipped with the Apple A8 processor, which is also used in, for example, the iPhone 6s, the new generation will definitely get a new chip. The Apple A10 Fusion or Apple A11 Bionic chip appears to be the most likely, which is also claimed by one of the most respected analysts, Ming-Chi Kuo.
The iPad mini 5 will certainly fall into the category of more affordable tablets, just in exchange for worse equipment. It could be the same as the current 9,7-inch iPad, which can be bought from CZK 8 and could be unveiled by Apple as early as March at its conference.

This will probably be the revolutionary, long-awaited product that Kuk keeps talking about. If the onLeaks guy is right, then maybe Apple didn't even have to bother, so much money and time in development and the result will be replacing a prehistoric chip with an old one? No tree grows to heaven, just a shame it came so soon…
Maybe you would like to see some benchmarks of the mentioned processor. At the time of their creation, they were three times more powerful than the competition, and that hasn't changed that much. Otherwise, this "new" mini doesn't make sense to me either... the main disadvantage, in my opinion, is the lack of support for the Apple pencil. A tablet without a pen doesn't make sense to me anymore.
The iPhone 6S did not have an A8 processor, but an A9
