Apple focused mainly on the new iron during today's keynote when it introduced new iPhones 7 a Watch Series 2. At the same time, however, he always stopped for a while at the new operating systems, which he presented back in June at WWDC. iOS 10 and watchOS 3 will be released to the public next week. macOS Sierra will also arrive in the next one.
iOS 10 will be available for download on Tuesday, September 13, and will thus arrive a little earlier than the new iPhones 7, which count on the new operating system. Just like Apple pointed out at the June developer conference, iOS 10 will bring rather minor improvements, but there are quite a few of them.
In iOS 10, the lock screen has been changed, working with notifications and widgets can be used more efficiently. The Siri voice assistant has been opened up to third-party developers, and Apple developers have focused a lot on improving the Messages app.
The following devices will be compatible with iOS 10:
- iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7 and 7 Plus
- iPad 4, iPad Air and iPad Air 2
- Both iPad Pros
- iPad Mini 2 and later
- iPod touch sixth generation
On the same day as iOS 10, watchOS 3 will also be released to the public, which owners of all Apple Watches will be able to install. The new Series 2 models will already have watchOS 3 pre-installed, as they will be released a few days later.
As Apple already demonstrated in June, the biggest news of watchOS 3 will be much faster app launch, which has been one of the inconveniences so far. In general, Apple has reworked the control method a bit, so the classic dock or control center will also appear in the new watch operating system. At the same time, WatchOS 3 should improve the endurance of Apple watches by optimizing performance.
You will need to have iOS 3 installed on your iPhone to install watchOS 10. Both systems will be released on September 13.
Mac computers were completely left out - although it must be said, as expected - at Wednesday's keynote. Finally until on the Apple website we could read that the new macOS Sierra operating system will also be released in September, specifically on Tuesday the 20th.
macOS Sierra, which after years changed its name from OS X to macOS, also has major and minor news. Next to the already mentioned name, it is the biggest one the arrival of the voice assistant Siri, which until now only worked on iOS and watchOS. The Mac will now also be unlocked via Apple Watch, iCloud Drive and some system applications have been improved.
macOS Sierra will be released on September 20 and will run on the following machines:
- MacBook (late 2009 and later)
- iMac (late 2009 and later)
- MacBook Air (2010 and newer)
- MacBook Pro (2010 and later)
- Mac Mini (2010 and newer)
- Mac Pro (2010 and later)
Features like Handoff require Bluetooth 4.0, which was introduced in 2012. Unlocking your Mac with your watch will require 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which first appeared in 2013.
The update to all operating systems will be free.
Does anyone know how well iOS10 works on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus? My question is whether the 1GB of RAM is enough for music playback and navigation at the same time. Or do you know of any tests?
I don't know anything about CR and SK Internet.
Hello, I have the latest version of iOS10 beta on a 5S and Apple Music and Google maps navigation work in my car at the same time without any problems, including audio streaming from both ablations via BT.
.
Well thank you
that's what I wanted to hear :)
Only Sygic is not ready for her. It works, but the voice navigation is zzzzpoomy
Hello, I have Ios 10 on Ip 6+ version 10.0.1 and it runs smoothly, I think it is even faster than Ios 9.3.5, everything works. But I did a clean install, completely deleted factory settings, updated and restored from backup, everything is OK, I'm satisfied.
Can I ask? If you want to switch from iOS10 GM to the official version that will be released on September 13.9, do you have to go through iTunes? I used to have the beta and then had to go back through iTunes, so if it's still like that? Thanks?
Well, as a developer, I had the betas that came out all downloaded as updates. And about 1 hour after the end of the keynote, the Ios 10.0.1 update jumped on me, so you probably wouldn't have to use iTunes. I just think that I don't have an official version yet, but probably some pre-production version. When is it officially coming out, I think 13.9??
Well, that's how I used to get updates via the developer account too, but I had to download the official version via iTunes and restore it. So I don't know if, if I download iOS10 now, I won't have to 13.9. do the same procedure as before?? anyway thanks a lot
I don't know if it will be released officially via iTunes. If I let it lead. I was quite surprised that an update was sent after the end of the keynote. I read somewhere that it should be the official version. But it may still be fine-tuned before it is officially released on a higher version. I'm a beginner with an iPhone, I had Symbian for a few years and Android for a couple of years. I ran away from her for good. I just wonder if Siri will ever be in Cz. I had something completely similar on Android in Cz.
8.9. Golden Master iOS10 was released, so if you updated yesterday, you have the final version. But I don't know if it is completely identical to the one that will be released on Tuesday. I'm waiting for CZ Siri to show mercy? And I believe it will be soon, I think in some iOS10 update, maybe the iOS10.2 version could already have it? But is that just my wish?
I know that I have a final version or a pre-production file. I read somewhere that it's official, but that it may differ from the one that will arrive on 13.9, so I'm curious. I'll let you know as soon as the official release comes out, whether it will throw me an update :-) I think definitely yes, that there will still be some flashes. And yes, yesterday I updated about 1 hour after the end of the keynote. Siri would like me in Czech. Hopefully it will be soon. Hopefully Prani will fill us in and soon Siri Cz. Anyway, I fell in love with the iPhone. Never again with Android. The only thing I can't find with Iohine are SMS deliveries :-( otherwise I'll let you know on Tuesday whether it will send me an update or not. My guess is that it will probably be a small one.
So I already have GM iOS10? So we'll see? Otherwise, do they have iMessage delivery cards?
I know they have iMessage deliveries. I meant classic SMS. I have iMessage disabled. I probably wouldn't use it when I don't have an iPad and such. iPhone only. So it didn't work for you with iOs 10, what? :-D I think it's a little quieter than 9.3.5
iOS10 is great, it completely exceeded my expectations, otherwise you can have iMessage active, you can tell by the blue bulbs that the person you are writing to also has iOS, and now you can have a good time there? In fact, they really messed up on the message app, they also edited the photos and everything is great?? The speed is certainly not worse, only the first ten minutes, I guess as it "settled" he was lazy, now it flies?
I was pleased with Ios 10 in almost everything. Finally, there is a normal alarm clock, you can set the days by default. That's what I missed the most :-D and yes, the messaging application really messed up handwritten messages :-D and the speed is a bit faster than Ios 9.3.5, the photos are nice, it's just a shame that Ip 6+ didn't get the option to take photos in Raw :-( and mainly they are going to delete final applications like stocks, etc. Another comment is that the battery lasts a little longer than before.
I was already able to set the alarm clock for individual days, that's what I used. But otherwise, I'm really looking at how stable and fast it is.. if it's even worth upgrading from 6S Plus to 7 Plus.. definitely not because of the camera..
Well, I didn't notice that somehow with the alarm that it went off before that :-) so I must have been doing something stupid :-D I don't see if it's worth updating for 6S+ owners. I don't know if it makes sense for the owner of the upage to 7+ photo dual, no, it still won't be of such quality as to make the photos worth it. Maybe a year from now and another one will come out, so yes. There will definitely be a much better dual camera than now. I'm not going to mention all 6+ :-) and yes, it's stable and that's good. It runs faster than Ios 9.3.5 and the battery lasts even better. But there's no point in doing upadge just for the sake of a photo. Write in a year. But I believe that someone has done it. And because of the real photo or something else.
Another knowledge and that is pre-reading. Completely improved and the new voice is much nicer and more realistic than the previous one. Hopefully there will be such a Siri too :-) let it be and hopefully it will be in CZ :-)
And another thing is an improved calendar. The file widget finally shows upcoming events, which are due in two weeks. It wasn't like that with Drive :-) regardless of how the notification is set :-) they probably just removed the stamped notification as to how it should be displayed :-) I didn't see it here. But it doesn't matter, I've never used what and in what order they should be below each other :-D I'm satisfied with iOs 10. The fact that it's a pre-production version is amazingly excellent. Hopefully there will be an update on Siri in Cz soon
And what about TVos10, when will it be?
And iOS 10 on the iPhone WILL NOT WORK OR WHAT?
