Commercial message: Huawei Nova 9 continues the tradition of its predecessors. We get such a luxurious package that even a diamond ring wouldn't be ashamed of. The glass cover, the perfect alignment of elements and the impressive surface finish undoubtedly make a good impression. At the same time, the design of the phone is far from the cheap flamboyance that other Chinese manufacturers sometimes abound. But that doesn't mean the Huawei Nova 9 doesn't look impressive. On the contrary. The main credit for this goes to the curved display found on the front.

A camera with potential

The Huawei Nova 9 is equipped with a quadruple camera. The main unit uses a large 50Mpx sensor paired with an f/1,9 aperture lens. For this, we have an 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle module and two 2 Mpx cameras: a macro and a depth sensor. On the front, there is a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Exact specifications

Here we are dealing with an OLED matrix with a diagonal of 6,57″ and a resolution of 1080 x 2340. In accordance with current trends, there is also a high refresh rate – 120 Hz. The screen looks very good and is a pure joy to use.

For a mid-range phone, the Huawei Nova 9 boasts not bad parameters. The heart of the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor made with 6nm lithography. In addition, we get 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. However, in connection with the specifications, it is worth noting that the Huawei Nova 9 does not support 5G connection, which has become essentially standard in this segment in the last two years. This is certainly a serious shortcoming that speaks against the phone.

Unfortunately, the built-in battery has only 4300 mAh, which is relatively small by today's standards. On the other hand, it supports 65W fast charging.

Modern software

Unlike the Chinese market version, you won't find the European version on board Huawei Nova 9 Harmony OS. Instead, the phone continues to use the EMUI 12 interface. Unfortunately, this does not mean access to the Google ecosystem - we are still condemned to HMS and AppGallery. But is the word "convicted" the right term? Not quite – or more accurately: not for everyone. EMUI as an overlay interface is sophisticated and comfortable to use. The stylistic consistency, which phones with competing Google solutions often lack, is certainly to be commended. Not only in terms of style - the whole system seems very well thought out, and that's a big plus.
