The new Macbooks have been on sale in the US since yesterday and it is still not entirely clear on all issues. But some of you (like me) liked the small aluminum Apple Macbook. No wonder. In my opinion, it is a very well-designed, well-made and, above all, powerful laptop. Steve Jobs talked about 5x more powerful graphics than the old model had, but what does this actually mean for us?

Anandtech he didn't idle today, he did test of new integrated graphics and looked at the Nvidia 9400 graphics card, the mobile version of which is used in the Macbook. Although they are not exactly the same cards, according to user tests they are at least comparable! I won't get into any technical analysis (well, that would be the case...), but I'll get straight to the point. Each graph (benchmark) includes the game name, resolution and detail settings. The numbers that the graph shows are just FPS (frames per second). In order for the game to be "enough" smooth for your eyes, around 30FPS is needed. Games are tested on Windows (launched e.g. via Boot Camp). So now you can make an overview yourself. (note. I hope I didn't offend anyone with this semi-pathetic description, if so, I apologize :) )

As you can see, Crysis is playable at 1024×768 resolution at low detail. I think this is an amazing performance for a small Macbook and I was certainly satisfied with this test. The new aluminum Macbook is a serious candidate for me to buy! If you are interested in more graphs, keep reading the article!
