The new 16-inch MacBook Pro made his debut this afternoon, but selected foreign YouTubers had the opportunity to test the laptop before its premiere, giving us the very first look at how the new product from Apple actually works.

One YouTuber who is already testing the 16″ MacBook Pro is Marques Brownlee. At the very beginning of his video, he points out that the new model is the successor to the original 15-inch variant and brings a number of improvements. It even shares the chassis with its predecessor with the same dimensions, only the thickness has increased by 0,77 mm and the weight by 180 grams. The packaging of the laptop also underwent minor differences, as space gray Apple stickers and a more powerful 96W adapter are included with it.

In terms of design, practically only the display has undergone a more fundamental change. It is not only surrounded by narrower frames and offers a larger diagonal, but also has a higher resolution of 3072×1920 pixels. However, the fineness (226 PPI), maximum brightness (500 nits) and color gamut of the P3 remained unchanged.

Marques also notes that the new MacBook Pro comes with longer battery life, namely by a full hour. Apple achieved this thanks to a larger 100Wh battery, which the notebook could be equipped with due to the slightly higher thickness of the chassis. As a result, it is the largest battery that the MacBook Pro has ever offered.

Of course, the new keyboard also earned attention. He passed on the Apple one with the problematic butterfly mechanism to the original scissor type. But Marques points out that the new keyboard is more of a hybrid of both mechanisms, which seems like a good compromise. The individual keys have approximately the same travel (around 1 millimeter), but they have a better response when pressed and generally feel more reliable. Ultimately, the keyboard should be much like the desktop Magic Keyboard 2, as the same name suggests.

Along with the new keyboard, the layout of the Touch Bar has changed slightly. Escape is now separated into a separate, physical key (it was originally part of the Touch Bar in virtual form), which professional users have been calling for for a long time. To maintain symmetry, Apple also separated the power button with integrated Touch ID, but its functionality remains the same.

In addition, the engineers at Apple also focused on problems with overheating, or with subsequent underclocking of the processor due to temperature reduction. The new 16″ MacBook Pro therefore has improved airflow by up to 28%. However, the number of fans has not changed in any way and inside the laptop we can still find two fans.

At the end of the video, Marques highlights the improved system of a total of six speakers, which play really well, and according to him, the new MacBook Pro currently offers the best sound of all laptops on the market. Along with the speakers, the microphones have also been improved, offering noticeably better noise reduction. You can also listen to the first quality test in the video below.

Journalists from The Verge, Engadget, CNET, YouTuber iJustine, UrAvgConsumer channel and editor Rene Ritchie from iMore also had the opportunity to test the 16-inch MacBook Pro. You can watch all the videos from the mentioned authors below.
