With the arrival of the macOS operating system, a number of native applications received a lot of new functions and improvements. Mail is no exception in this regard, and a number of interesting new features have also been added. How to make the most of them?

With the arrival of the macOS Ventura operating system, native Mail gained three main new functions – scheduled sending, cancellation of sending, and the possibility to remind the message. All of these features have long been commonplace in a number of third-party email applications, and their presence in Mail has certainly pleased many users.

Scheduled Shipping

As in iOS 16, the native Mail in macOS Ventura offers the option to schedule the sending of an email message. The procedure is simple. Start writing the appropriate message, then click the down arrow to the right of the send icon in the top left. Then select the desired time in the menu, or click on Send later to manually set the time and date of sending.

Unsubmit

With the arrival of the macOS Ventura operating system, the long-awaited canceling function also arrived in native Mail. If you sent a message a few seconds ago but then changed your mind, head to the bottom of the panel on the left side of the Mail window, where you can just click Unsend. Canceling a send can of course also be used in Mail in iOS 16.

Remind message

Read a message in Mail on Mac, but can't attend to it until later? So that you don't forget it, you can have it remind you. Select the desired message and then click on it with the right mouse button. In the menu that appears, click Remind, and then either select a set time from the menu, or click Remind later to manually set the date and time you want.

Customizing the time to cancel the send

You can also customize how long you can unsend an email in native Mail in macOS Ventura. First, launch native Mail, then click Mail -> Settings in the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen. In the upper part of the settings window, click on the Preparation tab, and then select the desired period in the drop-down menu next to the inscription Deadline for sending cancellation.
