As every year in June, this year Apple introduced new operating systems for its devices. Although iOS 12 is not exactly a revolutionary and completely redesigned update, it brings a number of useful innovations that users will certainly welcome. Even though Apple highlighted the main ones yesterday, he didn't have time to mention some. Therefore, let's summarize the most interesting new features that were not discussed on stage.

Gestures from iPhone X on iPad

Before WWDC, there were speculations that Apple could release a new iPad, similar to the iPhone X. Although this did not happen - Apple usually presents new hardware as part of the Keynote in September - the iPad received the gestures known from the new iPhone X. By pulling from swiping up from the Dock will return to the home screen.

Automatic code filling from SMS

Two-factor authentication is a great thing. But time is in a hurry (and users are convenient), and switching from the Messages app where you got the code to the app where you have to enter the code isn't exactly twice as fast or convenient. However, iOS 12 should be able to recognize the receipt of an SMS code and automatically suggest it when filling it in the relevant application.

Sharing passwords with nearby devices

In iOS 12, Apple will allow users to conveniently share passwords within nearby devices. If you have a specific password saved on your iPhone but not on your Mac, you'll be able to share it from iOS to Mac in seconds and without any extra clicks. You may know a similar principle from WiFi password sharing in iOS 11.

Better password management

iOS 12 will also offer users the ability to create truly unique and strong app passwords. These will be automatically saved to Keychain on iCloud. Password suggestions have worked great in the Safari web browser for some time, but Apple hasn't yet allowed it in apps. In addition, iOS 12 can detect passwords you've used in the past and let you change them so they don't repeat themselves across apps. The Siri assistant will also be able to help you with passwords.

Smarter Siri

Users have been calling for improvements to the Siri voice assistant for a long time. Apple finally decided to at least partially listen to them and expanded its knowledge with facts about famous personalities, motor sports and food, among other things. This way, you will be able to ask Siri about the values of individual foods and drinks.

Improved RAW format support

Apple will bring, among other things, better options for supporting and editing RAW image files in iOS 12. In a new update to Apple's operating system, users will be able to import photos in RAW format to their iPhones and iPads and edit them on iPad Pros. This is partially enabled by the current iOS 11, but in the new update it will be easier to separate the RAW and JPG versions and - at least on the iPad Pro - edit them directly in the Photos application.
