Another important event took place during Phil Schiller's keynote. She was released final version of Things 1.0 on MacOS. If you plan to buy this desktop version, it will cost you $49. Although it is not small money, it is still cheaper than, for example, the competing Omnifocus. In addition, until January 15, 2009, you have a chance to get discount 20%, which is definitely worth it. Just enter the coupon "THINGSPRESALE20" in the shopping cart.
If you'd like to see how a Things desktop app works and why I think Things is perfect, here you go I recommend screencast on how to use Things.
Another important event is the release new version on iPhone labeled 1.3. This version already can tags, which can significantly help someone in organizing tasks. This is because users often use them to sort, for example, according to priority, difficulty or how much time such a task takes.
Although they couldn't tell me much about the Cultured Codes involved plans for the future (so that the competition does not overtake them), so at least I learned a little. High priority is given to sub-projects and sub-areas, so that a person can orientate himself in the tasks even better. However, the most intensive work is currently being done on synchronization between 2 Mac computers - so it will definitely happen online synchronization with MobileMe.
And now let's get to announcing the winner of the competition. How did I choose? I included in the contest everyone who signed the article "Things - Time Management for iPhone". I wrote down each of you, as you commented one by one, in a separate Google Docs document, and that's how you got your number for the raffle. Each was thus included only once for greater fairness. Totally with you 37 participated!
So now I access Random.org where I choose to generate random numbers. I have a random number generated in the interval 1 - 37. Below the drawn number 5 is SteveJSF! Congratulations to the winner!
And if you didn't win, it doesn't matter, the promo code for some other app will appear again soon.. :)
near miss :))
Congratulations to the winners…
Hopefully luck will smile on me next time :-)
Thank you very much for the win and for the congratulations, I didn't even expect it with the number of participants. I already have the application installed, so hopefully I'll get used to it quickly. Just today, when I started using To Do's… Things to a greater extent, I fell off after the first note entered, but that was perhaps just an exception. I'll look at it in more detail tonight - the key is to be able to use it quickly and easily.
