In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

iOS 14 exposed TikTok clipboard exploit

At the beginning of this week, we saw the long-awaited opening keynote for the WWDC 2020 conference, during which we were introduced to the upcoming operating systems. At the presentation of iOS 14, Apple pointed out the most fundamental news, which undoubtedly include widgets, the Application Library and the method of incoming calls in the case of an unlocked screen. But the community itself has to come up with a number of innovations. The Californian giant usually releases the first developer betas immediately after the Keynote, thus opening the door for the first testers. It is precisely these people who subsequently inform the community about a number of other novelties for which there was no time during the conference.

It's no secret that Apple believes in the privacy of its users. In this direction, they also try to improve year after year, which is also confirmed by the new iOS 14. There is one problem with mobile operating systems. A number of applications access the clipboard you use for copying text at will. The main problem is that you can store, for example, payment card numbers or other sensitive data in the mailbox, which can then be accessed by various programs at their own discretion. But as we have already indicated, the new iOS 14 goes forward and added a great function that informs you through a notification when the given application reads the contents of your mailbox. And here we can come across TikTok.

As the first developer beta versions are available, many users are of course constantly testing them. Users of the social network TikTok have now begun to draw attention to a very strange matter, because the notification pops up quite regularly when using the application. It turns out that TikTok is constantly reading your chat. But why? According to the official statement of the social network, this is a prevention against spammers. We further learned from her that an update is already in the works to remove this feature from the app. Whether this also applies to the Android version, where unfortunately no one alerts you to the fact that someone is reading your mailbox, is not yet known.

Microsoft Stores will close for good

Today, the rival company Microsoft came out with a very interesting claim, which it conveyed to the world through a press release. According to it, all Microsoft Stores will be closed worldwide and permanently. Of course, this change brings with it a number of questions. How will it be with the employees? Will they lose their jobs? Fortunately, Microsoft promises that there will be no layoffs. Employees should only move to a digital environment, where they will help with purchases remotely, advise on discounts, provide some training and thus take care of customer support. The only exceptions are offices in New York City, London, Sydney and headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

At the same time, Microsoft's statement is quite clear. Their entire product portfolio has been completely digitized and it no longer makes sense to sell the products through traditional brick-and-mortar stores. In addition, the world of the Internet is constantly expanding. Today, we even have the option to complete the entire purchase through the internet or mobile application and we are done. This is precisely why Microsoft intends to move its employees to an online environment, which will enable it to offer much better support not only to people from around the given branches, but from all over the world. When we look at it objectively, we have to admit that it makes sense. If we take, for example, our beloved Apple Story, we would probably be very sorry to see them close. Although we don't have an official apple store in the Czech Republic, we have to admit that these are iconic places and a great experience for customers.
