With the new products that Apple introduced at its September event, it ditched the silver and space gray/black color options for some models and replaced them with new ones. While we haven't had a chance to see the new color combinations live yet, it's clear that they're quite different.

If we start with starry white, it now permeates many products. But to make room for it, Apple eliminated the iconic silver color that has been associated with its products for many years. But star white certainly cannot be said to be similar to silver, just as it is certainly not similar to classic white either. It has a tinge more to the color of champagne, i.e. ivory. It is much warmer, which may not be as evident on the Apple Watch Series 7 as on the accessories designed for them and produced in the same color, but also on the iPad mini.

The latter also offers this color, just like the iPhone 13 (mini). You will no longer be able to get any of these three products in their new generations in silver. But the product photos do not speak very clearly. Although it should be the same shade, it looks too dark on the Apple Watch Series 7 and too light on the iPhone 13. Although for him it may be due to his glass back. If we return to silver, the iPad and iPhone 13 Pro (Max) are among the new products that still contain it.

Dark inky is the new space gray

Only the iPad mini and the already mentioned 9th generation iPad, which is also available in silver, have retained space gray. The Apple Watch Series 7 and iPhone 13 (mini) are no longer available in this color, just like the iPhone 13 Pro (Max), which already replaced it in the previous generation with another shade, namely graphite gray, in which it is also available this year. It is rather interesting that in the original wording Apple calls the color Midnight, i.e. midnight, while the Czech translation is completely different. So dark ink will certainly be a very dark color that could show bluish tones in certain light. After all, the accessory with the same name is also bluish.

Whether Apple has set a new color trend is difficult to guess. How many times have we seen different colors that lived only with a given generation and Apple didn't bring it to us anymore - especially in connection with iPhones, already in the 5c generation. However, a bluish MacBook Pro instead of space gray and a star-white MacBook Air instead of silver might not be a bad combination.
