The new generation of processors from Intel with the designation Skylake it will bring higher performance and also reduce the demand for energy consumption. Against the current Broadwell architecture, they will once again push desktop and laptop computers a little further, and the introduction of Skylake is apparently behind the door. According to PCWorld would they had the new chips are likely to appear at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, which takes place from September 4 to 9.
The new processors will offer newer integrated Iris Pro graphics, which will be able to accommodate up to three 4K monitors at 60 Hz at the same time. Compared to previous generations, this is a significant step forward. Haswell could only accommodate one monitor with the same resolution but 30Hz frequency. Broadwell was also able to accommodate only one monitor, but already at a frequency of 60 Hz. The new architecture will also bring support for new APIs, specifically for DirectX 12, OpenCL 2 and OpenGL 4.4.
The reduction in demand for operation is achieved thanks to a new energy-saving mode, called Speed Shift, which can tame the processor as needed to achieve the highest possible savings on the battery.
Along with the new processors, Intel will also be pushing hard to break through with its technology Thunderbolt 3 with USB-C connector, which can serve one 5K monitor at a frequency of 60 Hz or two external 4K monitors at the same frequency with one cable.
A few days ago too she escaped presentation of the new processors that the MacBook Air should receive. Especially for this model, the new processors will be very crucial.
I'm rather waiting to see if they will finally release a 15ct with Skylake in the fall... it's a shame that they didn't at least include broadwell in the new update and there's still ivy bridge... although it doesn't matter now :-D
Haswell is there
Yes, I'm sorry, I overslept :-)
well, I think it's more like next year .. from what I've seen, late versions follow early, but not mid .. so I'm afraid that this year there won't be anything, but it would be nice :)
Yes :-) but the graphics card and SSD have never been replaced before so that the processor remains the same. I don't know about that. The same processor has been there since Late 2013. Personally, they could easily come out with a new 15-inch MacBook with USB-C and other things this fall.
so we'll see, September 9 is in a while, so if something should change, they'll probably let you know :)
Well, usually Macbooks are the first to have the latest processors. So I'm curious about it myself. If intel shows Skylake with a 4-core mobile processor, it is at least likely.
15″ has Haswell, 13″ Broadwell
Somehow I don't know about it... The headline says that the new MacBook will handle up to three 4K monitors, but in the text only two appear everywhere. So what?
Intel Skylake can support up to three 4K 60Hz monitors, the two we mention can support ThunderBolt with a single cable (also both 4K 60Hz).
