A few days ago have started to sell the new Powerbeats Pro wireless headphones, which are a kind of alternative to the popular AirPods, although their focus (along with the price) is slightly different. Powerbeats Pro are not yet sold on our market, but abroad the first owners have already had time to thoroughly test the new product, especially in terms of durability

The new Powerbeats Pro are aimed primarily at active users. They will therefore make a partner especially in the gym or when running, and because of this they should also be quite durable. Both against sweat and against water in general, and that's what some of the first foreign tests focused on. And as it seems, the new Powerbeats Pro are not really afraid of water, despite the official IPx4 rating, which doesn't sound so promising.

The IPx4 certification means that the product should be resistant to splashing water for a total of 10 minutes. In practice, the headphones should be able to withstand the rain on the way from a popular running route. The headphones coped with this test without any problems. Editors of a foreign server Macrumors however, they went a step further and practically set out to find out what Powerbeats Pro can withstand.

The individual water resistance tests were more and more demanding, from dropping the headphones into the sink under an open tap to "drowning" in a bucket of water for twenty minutes. From all tests, the Powerbeats Pro came out functional, although they played a little muffled at first. However, once all the water was out, they played like new again and all the buttons continued to work.

Despite the relatively low certification, these are almost completely waterproof headphones. Perhaps this information will come in handy when you're shopping for them in the coming weeks or months.
