A new version of the Office suite for Mac - this has been the unheard wish of many users for many years. At the same time, it has been speculated for a long time that Microsoft is really preparing updated applications Word, Excel and PowerPoint for OS X. The latest leaks of several images depicting the new applications, including Microsoft's internal documents, show that the new Office for Mac seems to be on the way.

The information comes from a Chinese website cnBeta, which first came up with a screenshot showing the new Outlook for Mac, has now also released some more information about Microsoft's future products. An internal presentation obtained shows the new features of the updated Office for Mac package, as well as a timeline in which the manufacturer of the Windows operating system indicates the release of new Office for Mac during the first half of 2015.

All applications within the Office suite should primarily receive a new graphical interface in line with OS X Yosemite and at the same time support for Retina displays. However, experience with Office for Windows should still remain the basis, i.e. especially in terms of control. There should be a stronger connection to Office 365 and OneDrive services, and Outlook will also undergo major changes for managing electronic messages.

At the same time, the application already hinted at everything in March this year OneNote, which Microsoft released separately for Mac, was the first to carry elements of an updated interface in line with the latest trends in OS X and has come a long way from the current Office 2011, which many users complain about.

This version is already available until the end of 2010, when Microsoft released Office 2011 for Mac as an equivalent to Office 2010 for Windows. Since then, however, the "Mac" package has practically not been touched, while Microsoft released a significant update to its own platform in the form of Office 2013. The release of an updated version also for Mac speculated already several times, and so the question is how current is the information of the Chinese website cnBeta credible. However, for the first time we are getting real pictures.

In the leaked images with the new Outlook, we can see that Microsoft intends to accept the new look of OS X Yosemite and deploy, for example, a transparent menu and an overall flat design. At the same time, it should be more unified with the versions for Windows and iPad, so that it is as easy as possible for users to switch between them.
