Apple says a lot in its Keynotes. If we are not talking strictly about WWDC, it also presents a lot of software news available especially on the currently presented devices, which are therefore exclusive to a certain extent. But then there are also those that he eventually releases to the older generations without informing him about it at all.

A shining example is the new AirPods Pro 2nd generation. Yes, they are improved and have their features based on their newer technology, but it looks like Apple will provide their features to the older model where possible. First and foremost, it's about customizing surround sound by scanning your ear with the iPhone's front-facing camera. This function is presented in the 2nd generation AirPods Pro and in the Apple Online Store, but with iOS 16, the first generation can also do it.

The second novelty is the adaptive throughput mode, which was also presented in connection with the new headphones without mentioning that other models could also receive it. The task of this function is to ideally suppress the noise of sirens, cars, construction and heavy machinery, etc. In the iOS 16.1 beta, its testers have now noticed that this function will also be available for AirPods Pro 1st generation. And that's good news, of course, because even three-year-old headphones will still learn interesting tricks.

Internship Manager

Users complained about multitasking on the iPad for years until Apple rushed out the Stage Manager feature, but of course there was a catch. This feature was tied to iPads with the M1 chip, others were out of luck. We use the past tense on purpose because Apple will eventually allow and bring the feature to other models as well, as it reveals iPad OS 16.1 beta 3. It should be iPad Pros, up to and including 2018. The only catch is that this feature won't work with external displays.

What comes next? Quite logically, it could be the photographic functions of the iPhones, although unfortunately we will have to let the taste go here. Even older models could certainly handle macro, which could also be said for film mode and photo styles, but it's been a year since they were introduced. But Apple doesn't want to, because this is a certain exclusivity that it simply doesn't intend to let go of, even considering that iPhones are a different sales item than iPads and AirPods. We will certainly not see this year's action mode on older devices, because Apple "closes" it to the Photonic Engine password, which only the current iPhone 14 has.
