Apple is apparently preparing to stream online content through an upcoming service iCloud, which should replace MobileMe, both for Mac and iOS. According to job offers on Apple's website, a new position is advertised for the position of "Media Streaming Engineer Manager".

The employee in this position was supposed to be part of Apple's Interactive Media Group. She is in charge of the development of functions such as media content playback, "on-demand" video content or interactive content streaming. These technologies can be found, for example, in iTunes, Safari or QuickTime.

The entire ad reads: “We are looking for an excellent Operations Manager to enrich our team and help us develop a streaming engine for our Mac OS X, iOS and Windows system. Candidates with experience in media streaming systems design preferred. Prospective bidders are expected to be able to deliver ``comprehensive software releases in short deadlines at high quality.''

So, the speculated iTunes streaming service is expected to be near or completed. In addition, two major music publishers have signed an agreement with Apple where they agree to allow their content to be played online. So streaming music and movies is on the way, but it seems that we won't get this service for free.

It is speculated that the services provided by MobileMe until now will be free for users and only premium features will be paid, which should include streaming online content. However, we will find out how it will actually be in two weeks at WWDC 2011, which takes place at the beginning of June.
