With October by the start of sales new Apple TV somewhat inexplicably did not receive an update for the Remote application, thanks to which the Apple set-top box can be conveniently controlled via iPhone or iPad. Users complained about the lack of support for the mobile app, mainly because it was really inconvenient to enter text without it. Today, however, Apple released a new version of the operating system that already Remote v Fourth generation Apple TV supports.

There are two major news in tvOS 9.1, and one is connected to the Remote application. Until now, it was only used for older Apple TVs of the second and third generation. It is not known why Cupertino didn't prepare it for this year's Apple TV right from the start, but now it is finally possible to pair it with the fourth generation.

Since the new Apple TV has an improved controller with a touch pad, it won't offer much more control over the iPhone or iPad, but it will be most useful if you need to type text on the TV. This is much easier via the keyboard on an iPhone or iPad.

The second significant innovation – although practically unusable in the Czech Republic – concerns support for Siri and Apple Music. It is now possible to search the Apple Music service on Apple TV via the voice assistant, which was a function that many users were missing.
