Apple has released macOS Mojave 10.14.5 incremental update. The new firmware follows the previous update from May 13, but with the difference that it is intended exclusively for the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018 and 2019.

Owners of compatible Macs can download the additional update at System preferences, in the section updates software. The update is recommended for all users for whom it is available.

According to the update notes, the new firmware fixes a software issue related to the T2 security chip and only occurs on 15″ MacBooks Pro. Apple does not provide more information, but it cannot be expected that the update will bring any other changes, fixes or even news.

The original macOS 10.14.5, which is still the latest system for all other compatible Macs, brought support for the AirPlay 2 standard for sharing videos, photos, music and other content from a Mac directly to smart TVs with this functionality (namely from Samsung, Vizio, LG and Sony). Along with this, Apple has also fixed the audio latency bug on MacBook Pro (2018). The update also fixed an issue that prevented some very large documents from OmniOutliner and OmniPlan from rendering correctly.
