Jan Zdarsa I have mentioned the Notify application here before, many people liked it, so it would be appropriate to remind you of it. The reason is simple, the updated version of Notify 2 was released some time ago and many of you may not have even noticed it. What can the new version do?
First, I would like to clarify why some people did not even notice the new version. If you are not following the news regarding this useful application, you may still be running on an old version. When trying to update via "Check for Updates", nothing happens (at least it used to be like that) and it is necessary to download the new version of Notify 2 again from the website vibealicious.com/apps/notify/.
In addition to classic Gmail, Notify 2 also supports Google Apps emails, but there is also support for e.g. MobileMe. Notify 2 should theoretically get along with every IMAP email account. But Notify 2 was slightly redesigned overall and it was definitely for the better. You can also manage multiple accounts in the application, so you will certainly welcome it if you can set how Notify 2 should notify you of new emails for each of them.
You can now buy Notify 2 in the "Pro" version. You will pay only $10 for it. And what does this improved version offer you? First of all, you can write emails or reply directly from the Notify 2 application, but I personally love the function of previews of incoming emails. If the email looks important, you can simply look at it right away. You can then delete this email or mark it as read.
I already liked the Notify Mac application in the previous version, and the author has worked on it even further. Currently, it is a big helper for me and I have the application on all the time. For a very reasonable price, you get a useful application and I can definitely recommend it!
