Well-known accessory manufacturer Nomad has introduced a new addition to its range of wireless chargers. Its latest Base Station Pro pad is interesting mainly because it works on a similar principle to the canceled Apple AirPower. In addition to being able to charge up to three devices at the same time, wireless charging works evenly across the entire pad.

The company Nomad thus managed to produce a wireless charger that the engineers at Apple were unable to design, or rather encountered various technical limitations during its production, which ultimately led to to cancel the entire project. However, even the Base Station Pro is not a perfect product, because the manufacturer was forced to limit the power of the charger to 5 W, while iPhones manage up to 7,5 W and competing Android phones even more.

The Base Station Pro can charge up to three devices at the same time – two phones and one smaller accessory (such as AirPods), but unfortunately it does not support the Apple Watch. At the same time, charging works over the entire surface of the pad and regardless of the position of the device, which allows a total of 18 overlapping coils (AirPower was supposed to have 21 to 24 coils).

The design of the pad is in the same spirit as all wireless chargers from Nomad – an elegant aluminum body with a dedicated leather section. The new pad is therefore very similar to the model Base Station with charger for Apple Watch, which, among other things, is also sold by Apple itself.

Nomad has not yet specified when it will start selling its revolutionary charger and has not revealed its price either. We should learn more details later this month. For now, interested parties have the opportunity to on the manufacturer's website sign up for the newsletter, so they will be the first to be notified that it is possible to pre-order the mat.
