Finnish company Nokia officially announced the return of its Here maps to iOS on Wednesday. We will see the application at the beginning of next year, it will return to iPhones after more than a year absenteeism.

"Given the positive response from Android users and the overwhelming interest in our maps on other platforms, we will launch iOS maps next year," she wrote Nokia on its blog. "We really appreciate the interest and demand. Our iOS development team is already hard at work, and we plan to launch HERE for iOS in early 2015.”

Nokia revealed its plans to release the app for iOS back in September of this year. It originally removed it late last year, complaining mostly about the limitations in iOS 7. "I'm sure people are looking for alternatives," Nokia executive Sean Fernback said in September. "Google Maps is certainly a good solution for many users, but it has been looking very much the same for a long time," he added.

Voice guidance, the ability to download map materials for offline use or information about public transport - this is a list of all the main functions that the maps from the Finnish company will offer. However, its first attempt did not work out very well, and it remains largely unknown whether HERE maps will succeed in defeating Google, the unequivocal market leader.
