The Nilox F-60 outdoor or, if you prefer, action camera is the type of product that you can use in a wide range of activities and at the same time you will not be a slave to it. A small, handy device that fits in the palm of your hand and is very easy to use will give you the opportunity to record even the busiest moments from trips, expeditions, vacations or even playing with the dog.
The Nilox F-60 is equipped with a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor. The video allows you to shoot in several modes and resolutions. Classic full HD resolution is a matter of course. However, more creative individuals will be pleased with the possibility to record slow-motion footage at a speed of 60 frames per second at 1080i resolution (interlaced). With lower image quality requirements, it even goes to 120 frames per second.
The camera can capture three widths. From a 175-degree fisheye to a standard wide-angle shot to a format close to a 50mm lens. In principle, you have covered all common situations that you may encounter during filming. You can also use the camera to take high-quality pictures (up to 16 Mpx). Taking your favorite selfies is then a breeze thanks to the wide-angle lens.
Nilox F-60 is supplied in a package with a very wide selection of accessories for attachment to various surfaces. It comes with a cover that makes the camera bigger, but makes it waterproof up to a depth of 60 meters. A standard tripod screw thread is available for attachment to a tripod, steadycam or simple rod. The Nilox F-60 can be used absolutely everywhere – in addition to classic bike or motorcycle trips, you can take the camera on the water in the summer or go bungee jumping with it.
The camera is controlled using the rear display in the UI, which is graphically no miracle, but performs the basic function well. The small one-inch display is not quite suitable for playing recordings. It should serve rather to check the composition and whether we have recorded anything at all.

The battery lasts the Nilox F-60 just enough for the needs of an all-day trip where snapshots are taken, and it is charged with a standard USB cable. Like other outdoor cameras, this one is not built for long hours of shooting. But if you still need to make a timelapse video, for example, you can remove the rear display and replace it with an additional battery. The F-60 can record up to ten photos per second and also offers a black box function to automatically replace the oldest recording with a new one. The camera supports microSD cards up to 64 GB in size, which is a solid video archive.
The overall impression of the Nilox F-60 action camera is very positive. Its dimensions and the location of the lens in the middle of the body allow it to be held firmly in the hand without accidentally touching the image. In the same way, when attached to a joint and shooting with a stick, the camera does not lean to one side. It is ideal as a companion for family sports activities, trips, cycling or diving. Nilox F-60 can be purchased for 8 crowns (299 EUR) and in the package you will find a remote control and a waterproof case, and if the basic equipment is not enough for you, you can buy additional holders and straps for fastening.
We thank the Vzé.cz store for lending the product.
Nothing against it, but can it be connected to iPhone, iPad? Or how should I understand this review?
Hello, if you were looking for a model that communicates directly with Apple iOS, then there is the new Nilox F-60 EVO, which brings Wi-Fi support and a free iOS application. The F-60 still uses its own controller for remote control. We believe that you will be able to look forward to a review of the EVO model in the near future.
About timelapse - it's a system for time-lapse pictures, where you can really collect footage from the whole day into one video.
The Nilox F-60 camera reviewed above is not directly related to Apple products, but next week we are going to publish a review of another model that is already related to Apple products and can work together. Nilox is not only about a single model, but we were given the opportunity to test more of them, so we try to introduce the brand to the reader as a whole. More and more outdoor cameras are flocking to the Czech market, and Nilox is one of the alternatives that offers products from two to ten thousand crowns. Everyone should choose.
Even the name of the product is slightly misleading.
This is exactly how goods from markets are distinguished, where the original name has been changed by only one or two letters and only at a second glance do you realize that it is something else.
(Nilox F60 – Nikon F60)
Nilox is an Italian brand operating for several years and bringing more products than action cameras and accessories. In addition to cameras, e.g. sports testers, pedometers, etc. – combines sport and activity with electronics. The F-60 model is offered in several variants with different names and there are also models with completely different names, the brand has full support in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, so there can be no question of any similarity with the mentioned manufacturer of the photo category. Well, if it was a "market" brand, it would be difficult for such stars as cyclist Peter Sagan or MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez to associate their names with it...
I don't know the company, nor anything from it, I just reacted to the name, which caught my eye with a striking similarity.
Of course, it may not seem that way to many others, and I agree with that, even with the fact that it is a great company with a tradition.
And if Peter records the journey through a similar camera, it will certainly be good.
I'm a bit missing a comparison with the already popular GoPro series (currently HERO 3 HD edition) and others like it... for example, the handle looks exactly the same and maybe GOPRO just has IOS support (app for control)
and another point - a word - all day
"The battery lasts the Nilox F60 just enough for the needs of an all-day trip"
does the battery last all day? I doubt that with the GoPro, the endurance of non-stop work is around an hour and a half, and for example the competing EVOLVEO SportCam W7 is de facto the same, and as far as I know, with this size it is generally plus or minus the same .. so I would really like to see the all-day Time Lapse (God forbid at ten frames per second - as you write)
– even though for time lapse (unless it's puncturing balloons) 10 frames per second is a relatively impractical thing :)
or at least some summary of what makes it stand out from the crowd and why you recommend this particular camera and not the others .. that you just devoted the whole article to this one??? thank you :)
Finally, there is something other than GoPro, which, to tell you the truth, is not worth the money. Here, I find it more acceptable in terms of finances, and above all I won't have to buy additional accessories to be able to use it, as with the GoPro
there are enough on the market .. it's not just GoPro for a long time .. alza has its own category for these cameras, see http://www.alza.cz/outdoorove-kamery/18854516.htm
but GoPro was the first, that must be left to them :)))
but I still don't know what's so great about this one vs the competition (not only GoPro, but in general)
I've been thinking about a camera for a long time, and anything over 5 seems expensive and pointless. I recently came across a discussion where they mentioned some noname Chinese camera. I even found a super comparison video with a gopro3 and I was pleasantly surprised. The camera can be ordered from dx and similar Chinese couriers for about 100 usd. I think it's called SJ4000. It can also be bought in guilds, but the price is inflated (VAT, duty, margin...)
It looks like the Magicam SD21... and in the photo it even has the same part as the Magicam SD21... and you can get the Magicam for about 1500,- cheaper.
