So far, this year's iPad Pro has been garnering praise. And no wonder. Apple really cared about its tablet and endowed it with features and functions that are a real benefit to users. Owners of the latest models can enjoy, for example, an improved display, Face ID or new Apple Pencil charging options. But no device is perfect, and the new iPad Pro is no exception.

Connectivity of external drives

The problem with the connectivity of external drives affects only a specific group of users, but it can be very annoying for them. Although Apple suggests from time to time that you can fully replace a laptop with an iPad, it lacks full support for external hard drives in this regard. Although the iPad Pro has a USB-C port, if you connect an external drive to it, the tablet can only handle photos and videos. They can only be imported into the camera's memory, which in some cases can trigger an unwanted iCloud sync.

No mouse support

The new iPad Pro offers the possibility of connecting an external display, which is a feature that many users will certainly welcome. They thus come one step closer to the proclaimed form with laptops and expand the possibilities of work and creation. But there is no support for peripherals necessary for work - namely mice. Even when connected to an external display, you still have to hold the iPad in your hands and monitor it as part of the controls.

Goodbye, Jack

Do you still remember the reaction caused by the removal of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7? This year's iPad Pro is the first Apple tablet to follow in its footsteps, and it seems the world is not yet ready for this drastic step. Vadim Yuryev from AppleInsider points out that using wireless AirPods with the iPad Pro is a logical and easy solution, but there are many professionals who used classic headphones to work on the iPad. Removing the jack, on the other hand, allowed Apple to make the tablet even thinner.

Untapped potential

This year's iPad Pro really excels in its performance and clearly outperforms last year's sibling in tests. Know it when running more demanding professional applications, for example Adobe Photoshop for iPad, which is due to arrive next year, will definitely run great on the new iPad Pro. However, there are not many such applications at present. On the other hand, certain limitations – for example in the Files application – prevent the iPad from being able to use its full potential.

Memory and storage

The last criticism of the editors was aimed at addressing the limited amount of storage and RAM that the user gets in the basic configuration of the iPad Pro. In the context of the price, which is traditionally noticeably higher than the competition, it is disproportionately low. The larger iPad Pro costs 64 crowns in the basic variant (28GB), and those interested in the higher 990GB variant have to pay an additional 256 crowns. According to Apple, the iPad Pro is 4500% faster than laptops, but this is not the case for the model with 92GB of RAM. Anyone interested in an iPad Pro with 4GB of RAM must take into account that it is only available in a variant with 6TB of storage.

Despite all the mentioned "flaws", it is still true that this year's iPad Pro is probably the best iPad (and tablet) yet. It has seen many significant changes for the better and is definitely worth upgrading to.
