In the latest update for its mobile application, Netflix has brought a long-awaited new feature that it has been testing since the end of February. Users can now watch a thirty-second preview of basically any movie or series available on the platform. The company informed about it today in its press release.

The novelty bears the official label "Mobile previews" and does exactly what it suggests. Users will have at their disposal half-minute long spots that will serve as a sample of the selected film, or series. It is essentially a shorter version of the classic trailer. The goal is for the user to be able to get an idea of what the specific work is about and whether he will enjoy it.

The novelty is available as of today for the iOS application, support for the Android version is coming soon. Mobile previews take the form of a vertical video (so that users don't have to bother with flipping the phone to landscape...) with interactive elements. So if something interests you, you can click to add it to your favorites, or skip it and move to the next video.

The launch of Mobile previews on phones preceded the introduction of this service on TV screens. It was here last year that Netflix got a picture of how much it is used by users and how much less time they spend scrolling through the menu. This new method is much faster and more efficient. How do you like the news?
