Netflix is preparing a new plan just for mobiles and tablets. The fact was confirmed by director Reed Hastings directly in an interview with Bloomberg last week. The new, cheaper tariff is currently being tested in some Asian countries. The monthly fee is approximately $4, which after conversion is approximately CZK 93.

If the Mobile tariff were to be officially put into operation, it would be the unrivalled cheapest option for a Netflix subscription. The plan offers basic definition streaming and does not allow content to be played on a laptop, TV or computer. For these purposes, you need to activate the Basic variant, and for HD playback Standard or Premium.

Netflix Malaysia TechCrunch

Server & Hosting TechCrunch said that one of the countries where Netflix is testing its mobile plan is Malaysia. A Netflix spokesperson confirmed that similar texting is taking place in several other countries, but did not provide more detailed information on the server. It is not yet clear whether the plan will be tested in the rest of the world, or whether the tariff will be automatically introduced worldwide if successful in Asia.

More than half of Netflix subscribers come from countries outside the United States, but in other markets the company has not been able to adjust prices accordingly - specifically in Asia, Netflix has strong competition from services such as Hotstar or iflix, whose tariffs start at three dollars a month.

Let's be surprised how the new tariff from Netflix will do in Asia and whether we will see it too.
