Patrik Pajer The roguelike game genre is difficult to define as a separate genre. The mechanics that make it a unique thing can be grafted onto almost any other genre. Nevertheless, roguelike fans mostly agree on titles that belong in the proverbial hall of fame. There is no doubt that strategy games like Slay the Spire or Into the Breach would certainly not be missing from such conversations. As for the action ones, few would disagree with the now legendary status of the pixel art Enter the Gungeon.

At its core, Enter the Gungeon is a classic bird's-eye shooter. The most important strategy is managing your ammo supply, switching weapons efficiently and avoiding the many bullets fired by enemies. However, the developers from Dodge Roll pushed the simple concept to the upper limits of difficulty. In some situations, thanks to the number of enemies and sometimes comical effects of some weapons, you won't know where you and your character's head is.
