Adam Kos JustWatch offers all streaming services in one app. But at the same time, it also makes detailed statistics across their monitoring. From those related to the Czech Republic and carried out in the first quarter of this year, it is clear that the three largest services occupy 85% of the domestic market. These are Netflix, HBO GO and Prime Video.
Specifically, only Netflix owns a full 50% of the market and is thus the unequivocal leader, as HBO GO has a dizzying 28% less behind it. The third Prime Video is watched by 13% of users. There is certainly an interesting situation in the fourth and fifth places, which O2 TV and Apple TV+ are fighting for. A 6% share may not be a bad result for Apple at all, also because it is compared to a relatively large player here.
But it is worse in the development of viewership. Since January 2021, Apple TV+ has lost two percent of its share, and since it was O2 TV that gained one, it evened out the statistics. It can be seen that Apple's post-Christmas season did not go well. But it is a fact that he is just preparing his main news, especially in the form of the second series of the award-winning series Ted Lasso.
