For example, from Apple we have seen a huge shift in the world of apple computers, for which we can thank the Apple Silicon project. The Cupertino giant stops using processors from Intel and bets on its own solution. And by the looks of it, he's definitely not wrong. In 2021, the redesigned MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips was unveiled, which took everyone's breath away in terms of performance. But what news can we expect this year?
iPhone 14 without cutout
Every Apple lover is undoubtedly eagerly waiting for this autumn, when the traditional unveiling of new Apple phones will take place. The iPhone 14 could theoretically bring a number of interesting innovations, led by a newer design and a better display even in the case of the basic model. Although Apple does not publish any detailed information, various speculations and leaks about possible new products of the expected series have been spreading in the apple community practically since the presentation of the "thirteens".

By all accounts, we should again expect a quartet of mobile phones with a newer design. The great news is that following the example of the iPhone 13 Pro, the entry-level iPhone 14 is likely to offer a better display with ProMotion, thanks to which it will offer a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. However, one of the topics that is most often discussed among apple users is the upper cutout of the screen. The Cupertino giant has been receiving solid criticism for several years, as the cut-out looks unsightly and may make using the phone uncomfortable for some. However, there has been talk of its removal for a long time. And quite possibly this year could be a great opportunity. However, how it will turn out in the final is understandably uncertain for the time being.
Apple AR headset
In connection with Apple, the arrival of an AR/VR headset, which has been talked about among fans for several years, is also often discussed. But at the end of 2021, news about this product became more and more frequent, and respected sources and other analysts began to regularly mention it. According to the information so far, the headset should focus on gaming, multimedia and communication. At first glance, this is nothing revolutionary. Similar pieces have been available on the market for a long time and in relatively capable versions, as evidenced by the Oculus Quest 2, which even offers sufficient performance for playing without a gaming computer thanks to the Snapdragon chip.

Apple could theoretically play on the same note and thus surprise many people. There is talk of using a pair of 4K Micro LED displays, powerful chips, modern connectivity, eye movement sensing technology and the like, thanks to which even the first generation of the Apple headset could become surprisingly capable. Of course, this is also reflected in the price itself. There is currently talk of 3 dollars, which translates to over 000 crowns.

In the world of smart watches, Apple Watch retains the imaginary crown. This could theoretically change in the near future, as the South Korean Samsung is slowly breathing on the back of the Cupertino giant with its Galaxy Watch 4. Samsung even teamed up with Google and together they participated in the Watch OS operating system, which powers the aforementioned Samsung watch and noticeably improves their use over the previous Tizen OS. But another player is likely to look at the market. For a long time there has been talk about the arrival of a smart watch from Google's workshop, which could already give Apple a great deal of trouble. It is necessary to take into account that this competition is more than healthy for the technological giants, as it motivates them to develop new functions and improve the current ones. At the same time, advanced competition would also strengthen the Apple Watch.
Valve Steam Deck
For fans of so-called handheld (portable) consoles, the year 2022 is literally made for them. Already last year, Valve introduced the new Steam Deck console, which will bring a number of interesting things to the scene. This piece will offer first-class performance, thanks to which it will compete with modern PC games from the Steam platform. Although Steam Deck will be rather small in terms of size, it will offer plenty of performance and will not have to limit itself to weaker games. On the contrary, it can handle AAA titles as well.
The best part is that Valve is not going to look at any compromises. You will thus be able to treat the console like a traditional computer, and therefore, for example, connect peripherals or switch the output to a large TV and enjoy games in larger dimensions. At the same time, you won't have to buy your games again to have them in a compatible form. Nintendo Switch players suffer from this ailment, for example. Since Steam Deck comes from Valve, your entire Steam game library will be immediately available to you. The game console officially launches in February 2022 in selected markets, with the following regions gradually expanding.

We mentioned the AR headset from Apple above, but the competition could also come up with something similar. The arrival of the third generation of VR glasses (Oculus) Quest 3 from Meta, better known as Facebook, is quite often talked about. However, it is not entirely clear what news the new series will bring. Currently, there is only talk about displays with a higher refresh rate, which could reach 120 Hz (Quest 2 offers 90 Hz), a more powerful chip, better control, and the like.
But what's best is that it's a fraction of the price compared to Apple. According to currently available information, the Meta Quest 3 headset should be 10 times cheaper and cost $300 in the basic version. In Europe, the price will most likely be slightly higher. For example, even the current generation Oculus Quest costs $299 in America, i.e. roughly 6,5 thousand crowns, but in the Czech Republic it costs more than 12 thousand crowns.
Mac Pro with Apple Silicon
When Apple revealed the arrival of the Apple Silicon project in 2020, it announced that it would complete the complete transfer for its computers within two years. This time is coming to an end, and it is more than likely that the entire transition will be closed by the high-end Mac Pro, which will receive the most powerful Apple chip ever. Even before its launch, we will probably see some kind of desktop chip from Apple, which could go into, for example, the professional version of the Mac mini or the iMac Pro. The mentioned Mac Pro could then also benefit from the elementary benefits of ARM processors, which are generally more powerful, but do not require as much energy and do not produce as much heat. This could make the new Mac significantly smaller. Although more detailed information is not yet available, one thing is certain - we definitely have something to look forward to.
