Mobile gaming, whether on iPad or iPhone, is becoming more and more popular in the world. For many users, this is the only option to play quality games. However, even "classic" players do not despise the smaller screen, simply because great games are being developed that can often be compared to those on PCs or game consoles. Today's list of the most anticipated iOS games is a good example of that. Often times you'll come across a game in the rankings that is a direct port of a "bigger" title or has PC and console foundations. The gap between mobile and classic gaming is shrinking again.

Company of Heroes

Although this strategy game was released a few weeks ago, it certainly deserves its place in the ranking. And perhaps because it is one of the best-rated strategies in history. It is available on iOS in its full form, including a great campaign, adapted controls for the iPad and very good graphics. Support for the Czech language is just icing on the cake.

Story Company of Heroes begins on D-Day, the day Allied troops landed in Normandy. Within a few hours, players will find themselves in other important battles of Operation Overlord, which they know from history, but also from well-known war films and series such as Brotherhood of the Undaunted. Finally, we will mention the price, which is CZK 349 in the App Store.

Pascal's Wager

You can also buy the second game in our ranking straight away, it was released in the first half of January 2020. Even before the release, Pascal's Wager didn't talk too much, partly because the developers at TipsWorks hadn't released another iOS game before. It could simply be described as Dark Souls in your pocket, and we don't just mean the common elements of action fantasy RPGs. Basically, this is not the easiest game for phones. The developers even had to respond to the high difficulty with a "Casual" mode after the release, which simplifies the game several times.

For 189 CZK you get a large portion of entertainment. In addition, the developers have already published other plans for the future. A new game mode will be added during March, a new area is coming in May, and in June the entire expansion with a new story, maps, characters, etc. The game is available on iPhone and iPad.

Slay the Spire

Ideally, the third ranked game would be out by now, but due to unspecified issues, we have to wait for the Slay the Spire card game. It was originally supposed to be released at the end of 2019, which did not happen, and the developers on social media say that both the iOS and Android versions are ready and waiting for the game's publisher. Compared to "classic" digital card games like Hearthstone or Gwent, Slay the Spire is quite different. First of all, you only play offline against the computer, and to make matters worse, you must not hesitate at all. Once your game character dies, it's over and you start over, deck building included.

League of Legends: Wild Rift

Riot Games is preparing a large number of games for this year, at least three will also be released on iOS. However, we will not talk about Teamfigt Tactics or Legends of Runeterra, we will mention it instead League of Legends: Wild Rift. After years of waiting, the most popular MOBA game is finally coming to mobile devices. Initially, "only" some modes and 40 heroes will be available, which also suggests that a beta test is planned, similar to other aforementioned games of this studio. In any case, a full launch is planned for the end of 2020.

Diablo Immortal

We probably don't need to introduce the Diablo game series at all. For those few people who didn't have an honor with the game, we will state that it is an action RPG in which you kill hordes of enemies, improve your character with various spells and items. For over 20 years, Diablo games were only available on PC and consoles. In 2018, a mobile version of the game, subtitled Immortal, was announced. From the beginning, the game was heavily criticized, mainly due to the fact that players expected a full-fledged fourth part and instead "received" only a mobile version of the game, which also resembled a copy of another game. However, Blizzard Entertainment took the criticism to heart, the release was pushed back, and after a two-year wait, we hope to see a successful title this year.

Path of Exile Mobile

Even if it doesn't work out with Diablo Immortal in the end, fans of action RPG games don't have to be sad. At the end of last year, the mobile version of Path of Exile (PoE) was introduced. For many Diablo fans, Path of Exile has become the better game. This is also evidenced by the positive reception of players in contrast to Diablo Immortal.

Project Cars GO

Fans of racing games can look forward to the mobile version of Project Cars. Unfortunately, there is not much new information and the developers only assure fans that the game is still being worked on. From the initial presentation, we know that licensed vehicles and tracks are expected, the graphics will be at a perfect level, and in terms of gameplay, it is not going to be any Asphalt-type arcade, but rather something like Grid Autosport.

Plants vs Zombies 3

Finally, we have the third installment of the very popular tower defense game. After various offshoots, the developers at PopCap Games are returning to their roots. Plants vs Zombies 3 will offer classic gameplay, familiar zombie enemies and flowers that are used to defend the home. The game will be available for free in the coming weeks. It has currently only been launched in the Philippines and has an average rating of 3,7 so far.
