The story of Apple and the personalities associated with it has long inspired not only writers but also filmmakers. Since the late nineties, when the legendary movie Pirates of Silicon Valley was filmed, the apple theme seems to be quite attractive. The most recent movie with the simple name Steve Jobs was made in 2015. These and other movies that can bring us closer to the story of Apple and its co-founder Steve Jobs are presented in the following lines.

Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) | ČSFD 75%, IMDb 7,3/10

The film Pirates of Silicon Valley was the first feature film charting the story of Californian visionary Steve Jobs. It emphasizes the beginnings of the Apple company and, above all, Jobs' rivalry and clashes with Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The film gained great popularity, among other things, due to the fact that, unlike other films, it is relatively historically accurate. The casting of the role of Steve Jobs, played by Noah Wyle, is also worth mentioning.

JOBS (2013) | ČSFD 65%, IMDb 5,9/10

A relatively well-known film called jOBS was another feature film about the co-founder of Apple. This time directly about him. The film depicts the history of the company from its founding to the introduction of the first iPod and delves into Jobs' personal life. Although the performance of Ashton Kutcher, who almost perfectly portrays Steve Jobs here, is to be commended, the film is not always completely accurate. However, the amazing appearance of the characters in the film with real people cannot be denied to the creators.

The film ends with the launch of the iPod in 2001, which, given that the film was released in 2013, is rather surprising. And so the question arises as to why other impressive moments from the recent history of the Cupertino company were not used.

iSteve (2013) | ČSFD 50%, IMDb 5,3/10

The film iSteve looks at Jobs' life from a different angle and presents his story in a rather bizarre, parodic way. For many, this method is surprising to the point of unbearable, and this is also probably the reason for the relatively low rating on ČSFD. The interesting thing about this film is that the main role was given to Justin Long, who (during Jobs' tenure) starred in the famous series of Get a Mac commercials.

Steve Jobs (2015) | ČSFD 68%, IMDb 7,2/10

The latest and so far the last film depicting the life of the computer genius we are talking about in 2015 they informed richly. The plot is divided into three half-hour segments, each of which takes place before the introduction of one of the apple company's three key products. Michael Fassbender got the main role. A recurring motif of the film is Jobs' developing relationship with his daughter Lisa, who he first refused to acknowledge paternity with, then named a computer after her anyway, and finally found his way to her. According to many, the film is not about Apple and Jobs, but rather an analysis of Jobs' personality. And that's probably what screenwriter Aaron Sorkin intended...

The life of Steve Jobs never ceases to inspire, so sooner or later we will surely meet again with a new film on this topic. I wish he could be like the Pirates of Silicon Valley again.
