Although the coronavirus measures are slowly but surely being relaxed, meeting with loved ones is significantly limited. An alternative that has become commonplace in the last year is communication tools and social networks, through which we can connect with friends at least to a limited extent. If you use an Apple Watch, you've probably already discovered that the most sophisticated chat app on your wrist is the native Messages. While there aren't many third-party apps for chatting and viewing social networks for the Apple Watch, there are still some good ones.

Messenger

Relations between Apple and Facebook have been near freezing lately, but even so, the social networking giant is keeping its Messenger chat app on all Apple platforms. The application for Apple Watch is a rather poor sibling compared to the one on the phone, but nothing else can be expected due to the small screen of the watch. You can start conversations with your friends, send text messages using dictation, or express your emotions using emoji. One of the options that is unlocked on your watch is to play voice messages, but unfortunately you cannot send them. It's also perhaps a bit of a shame that you won't even be able to enjoy audio calls on Messenger for Apple Watch. Even so, the Facebook developers have fulfilled the purpose of simple communication with this application.

Telegram

For those who do not know the increasingly popular Telegram service, I would compare it to the widely used, but controversial WhatsApp thanks to the introduction of new conditions. You upload your phone number to the program, connect it to your contacts, and you can communicate with those who also have Telegram installed. The version for iPhone and iPad is no different, in addition to starting audio or video calls, sending text and voice messages or creating group conversations, Telegram can send stickers, files and disappearing messages. The program for Apple Watch is surprisingly good, as it allows you to send audio and text messages, and you can also choose from a variety of stickers. Last but not least, you can share your current location with your friend from your wrist, which is handy if you need to get together but can't meet each other. Telegram users will be delighted by the simplicity and functionality of the program on their watches.

Lenses for Watch

Like WhatsApp, the social network Instagram no longer has an Apple Watch app, although it was different for Instagram in previous years. A viable alternative would be the Lens for Watch tool. Once linked to your Instagram, you'll be able to browse posts, respond to them, comment on them from your watch, or send messages to other users you follow, and they follow you. In order to take full advantage of Lens for Watch, you cannot do without a one-time purchase.
