Although we are still relatively long away from the presentation of the iPhone 15 (Pro), thanks to a lot of various leaks, we already know quite a lot about them. A few hours ago, even a portal 9to5mac published a series of renders based on leaked CAD diagrams depicting these very phones, de facto revealing their appearance more than six months ahead of schedule. However, it was with the new design that Apple paradoxically could inflict an unwanted whiplash on itself, which may force it to do what is probably the biggest revision of covers in its history.

If you have been interested in information leaks about the iPhone 15 (Pro) for a long time, you surely know that at least the Pro series should see a change of physical buttons to other ones - either haptic after the Home Button from the iPhone SE 3, or sensor. The catch, however, is that in both cases the result is a significantly different solution than the one used by Apple now, as there is not quite a classic physical switch or, if you prefer, a dent. And that's the catch. Physical buttons deal with covers easily, because as a result, it is only enough that the button of the cover "sits" on them, which ensures the user the possibility of interaction with the button below it - in other words, the button of the cover is just a kind of extension for a classic physical button. But, logically, this will not work with the new iPhone solution.

So, Apple will most likely have nothing else to do but equip the covers with technology similar to the sides of the iPhones, or at least use technology that will be able to transfer touches from the sides of the covers to the buttons on the iPhone hidden under them. From a completely stupid accessory at first glance, it may become to some extent a technical unique that has no parallels in the mobile world yet, as practically all major manufacturers still rely on physical switches. On the other hand, it will not be anything particularly extraordinary for Apple, as in the past it has taught iPhones, for example, to change the color of the wallpaper depending on the use of the MagSafe cover, or to change the coloring of the watch after being inserted into the closing case. So it is clear that the Californian giant is not completely afraid of setting trends in this direction.

What we, on the other hand, should be a little bit afraid of is how much such upgraded covers will be sold for. It would be quite surprising if their price tags did not reflect the work that Apple will have to devote almost 100% to them. We can only guess at the moment how much or how little it will be. However, it would probably not surprise anyone if we reached the limit of 2000 CZK per piece for covers, as leather originals are already sold for 1790 CZK. In one breath, however, it should be added that there are still more expensive covers on the market, which are in decent demand, so Apple still has some room for maneuver here. However, whether it becomes more expensive as a result or not, apparently the biggest revolution in its covers will simply not be avoided due to the new type of buttons.
