Last but not least, the first-class quality that the brand has always boasted. The truth is that even in this respect Apple really stands out from most of the competition, but unfortunately there can be no question of flawlessness. Today we will look together at the most common defects that appear on the iPhone and we will also mention the approximate prices for repairs.
Sometimes the software is to blame
Even before we get to the hardware glitches, we mustn't forget the software ones. Even these can significantly affect the functionality of the device, but fortunately they can usually be solved relatively easily. Sometimes it's enough to delete the app and upload it again, other times a factory reset will help. Some glitches appear with a new version of iOS and disappear only with the arrival of other updates.
Among the annoying problems that some users have noticed with the iPhone 4S after updating to iOS 6.0 and higher versions, for example, is the "graying out" of the Wi-Fi button. And while on some devices it was enough to turn on the "airplane mode" and "do not disturb" functions, turn off the phone for about 5-10 minutes and deactivate the function after turning it on, in other cases Wi-Fi was activated again only after updating to iOS 7. There were also reports on the Internet curious solution – placing the device in the refrigerator. This method supposedly works, but only temporarily. After warming up, Wi-Fi usually deactivates again.
Damage to buttons
We use the Home Button very often and it is no wonder that it breaks from time to time. Look for the cause in a damaged cable, and the good news is that the service will repair the button (or replace it with a new one) while you wait. The approximate price is around 900 - 1 CZK.
Another button that angers iPhone owners is the power button. Even in this case, the price of replacing the button should not exceed CZK 1000. But be careful - Sometimes the iPhone won't turn on due to a software bug or faulty power cable. Therefore, before you go to the service center, check these possible causes as well.
Damage to the touch layer of the LCD display
The most stressed and therefore the most faulty part is the LCD display. It can withstand quite a lot, but sometimes it can crack even after falling from a small height or after applying more pressure. Damage can also occur as a result of oxidation after liquid enters the device or it is exposed to a humid environment for a long time. So don't leave your phone in the bathroom while you take a steam bath.
As for the repair price, you must include the price for replacing the touch screen and glass (if the LCD display has been mechanically damaged, e.g. by falling). iPhone 4/4S repair it will cost you approx. 2 - 000 CZK, for an iPhone 2 you will pay approximately 500 CZK. Therefore, invest in advance in a protective film and a more robust case, which will reliably protect the device from most accidents.
Damage to the headphone circuit
The headphone circuit consists of the most delicate components, and even these are susceptible to damage. A malfunction can occur due to normal wear and tear, but also as a result of oxidation or dust contamination. The price for replacing the headphone circuit ranges from 1 to 000 CZK. Again, you'll pay more to replace parts on a newer iPhone than to repair older models.
How do you recognize quality service?
With a little skill, it is not a problem to replace defective parts at home, but we still assume that 99% of you would prefer to turn to experienced servicemen. So the final question is clear. How to recognize quality service?
The place to repair your iPhone is like a mushroom after rain, but if you don't want to be disappointed by the approach or the price is too high, don't rush and choose carefully. After "Googling" a specific service, don't forget to read the references and, last but not least, check if there is a price list on the website. It is important to know the price of the repair in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises.

I know it's a PR article and advertisement, but a few additions and insights from practice:
Sticking the iPhone in the fridge to restore the wifi function was a hoax, it's technically nonsense.
Damage to the buttons is not caused by the cable, but by the button itself, whose membrane simply loses its elasticity. It never fixes, but changes. That's why I wonder how it is solved with the 5s, where the button cannot simply be replaced with a new one thanks to the connection to the ID A7 chip.
If the jack is damaged by dust (which happened to me and the headphones couldn't fit in there), it's enough to remove the dust with a thin object (toothpick) (but never dig it in!). In the case of corrosion damage, it is enough to apply a little (really little) concor, contactol or wd40 to the male jack and soak it in the brickwork, which will clean it, and the same may apply to the data connector.
With the 3 series, the accelerometer or wifi went away - only the replacement of the base plate will help - or no one else does it. And the ringing switch was also quite gone - silent, which is a flex cable common to the volume and jack - the replacement was quite annoying and they usually don't like to do it.
The home button or power button is missing from the DOST 4 series - repair see above and sometimes it can be much more expensive than the iP5, because the entire phone has to be completely disassembled.
With the 5 series, the charging circuit is completely gone, when the iPhone stops responding completely to connecting the cable (but communication with iTunes continues to work) (For one 5 series, paradoxically, it was enough to restart the iPhone and it continued, but after half a year the error appeared again and it had to be service.)

It wouldn't hurt to add that there are only 4 authorized Apple service centers in CR - 3 in Prague (ITS, Directcom, Cesky servis), 1 in Tabor. It would also be good to add that Apple does not provide spare parts, if you find an intervention by an unauthorized service in an authorized service, you are in trouble and pay full price for a new iPhone :)
It doesn't really matter where the service centers themselves are actually located. What matters to users is where they can find them when they need their help. E.g. users from Brno do not have to deal with a Prague service when ITS or the Czech service is located directly in Brno.
I think it was mainly meant for warranty and post-warranty repair. Because, if I have an extended warranty from the apple store and I take the phone to a service center that looks like it's authorized but isn't, then apple won't recognize my warranty. It is always necessary to find out whether and how the given service provider deals with authorized repairs...
BTW, my experience with the iP 4S so far - my work phone is absolutely without any problems, I bought my girlfriend an iP4S in the UK in an apple store and after about 6 months the speker module left us there - i.e. it didn't record sound properly and the loud speaker didn't work. I sent it to the Czech serivus, the repair was carried out by replacing the phone within 3 days - I think it's great, but lo and behold, at home I found out that part of the display is not working... sent to the Czech Republic again. fixed by replacing the phone after 14 days, unfortunately the same defect appeared after an hour of use. A clean install of iOS helped for a short time, but the error randomly keeps coming back... So the phone goes to the complaint again...

A small yellow spot turns yellow in the corner of the display after a bit of heating. Don't know if it can be fixed at home?
As far as I know, this was the fault of the 4 metal board - the glue on the display started to heat up over time, which turned it a little yellow. I don't think you can fix it at home.
