Apple today she published a new set of rules for your app store, the so-called App Store Guidelines. Several novelties have appeared here, among the most interesting ones (for regular users) is the new option to donate in-app purchases within the App Store.

Donating in-app (in-game) purchases or various microtransactions has been prohibited until now according to the rules of the App Store. However, according to the new rules, it is now okay and users can gift similar types of purchases to other users within the App Store. The service should work in the same way that paid apps can currently be donated. It only depends on the developers when they manage to implement the new mechanics in their applications.

Donating in-app purchases is especially popular with many free-to-play titles, where real money buys various packs, expansions, bonuses, and more. Donating paid in-game items is very popular, for example, with this year's hit Fortnite on "big" game platforms. This option is not available in iOS versions, precisely because it has not been possible according to the rules until now.

It can be expected that we will soon receive some new information in this regard. Apple didn't just make the change for nothing. Perhaps it is precisely the success of Fortnite that has contributed to this change, as Apple gets a tenth for every transaction made within the App Store. In the case when we are talking about a game that has a player base in the order of several million people, the possibility of donating in-game purchases is a logical choice.
